Unfortunately, due to the high winds forecast, we, the 12 O’Clock Hills Project Committee, must postpone our Winter Solstice Walk to Saturday, 28th December, at 6pm.
All tickets purchased for the Winter Solstice Walk on 21st December will remain valid for the rescheduled event on Saturday, 28th December. If you are unable to attend on the new date, please email info@12oclockhills.com to arrange a refund.

Experience the magic of the Winter Solstice with our annual guided hike through the 12 O’Clock Hills on Saturday, 28th December.
This 7km hike will take you to the Upper Hills and back via the Forestry Road, offering a memorable way to celebrate the shortest day of the year.

The Hill Knockanuarha (12 O’Clock Hills) is located 5 km (3.1 miles) southeast of Kilkishen village in East Clare, Ireland. The main summit is marked by an Ordnance Survey Trig Point or Triangulation Pillar. The height is 309 metres or 1014 feet above mean sea level. There is another peak about 10 metres lower and 400 metres away to the west south west.

After many exploratory walks a ‘Twelve O’Clock’ Committee was formed with the idea of developing the area as a local amenity.
Today, the committee are as follows: Chairman Patsy Neville, Vice Chairman John Lenihan, Secretary Ger Grace, Treasurer Antoin Devitt, PRO Maureen Cleary, John Lyons, Joe Hyde, Ger McErlian, Noel Gallagher, and Olive Liddane.
The projects aim is to celebrate the heritage of the many hill dwellers who once lived in Upper Belvoir, Crag and Snata and provide safe and signed walking routes for recreational , heritage and scenic purposes.
The hill Knockanuarha also known as the 12 O’Clock Hills (eircode V95 YKN5) is located 5 km (3.1 miles) southeast of Kilkishen village in East Clare, Ireland.
There is a spacious Car Park at the Belvoir Trailhead, which opened in June 2019. It can accommodate at least 90 cars on two levels and has a public toilet.
The 12 O’Clock Hills are designed for anyone who wants to go walking or hiking in East Clare. If you love walking and have a passion for getting outdoors the 12 O’Clock Hills is the perfect place for you to plan your next outing.
